Laura Linney has been hailed as one of the most acclaimed actors. She is known for playing strong characters that are equally at risk. Born to a famous playwright's father but raised by a single mother, who earned her living as a nurse, she became interested in theatre while working with her father during the summer then pursuing acting studies, initially at Brown University and then at Juilliard School. After two years of the graduation, she began the beginning of her Broadway career. The following year, she began her career she was on television. In the years since, she's been involved in numerous films, television shows and stage performances. In her long career, she's won many awards, which comprise 2 Golden Globe Awards and four Primetime Emmy Awards as well as three Academy Award nominations and five Tony Award nominations. Although she received many awards over the years, theater is always her main passion.
